Rep too low to close vote? Flag it instead!

A member with enough rep can click flag: and choose the appropriate notification: and it will go into the review Q for a higher rep member to vote on or a mod to look at it and decide. When a ...

Answering questions which otherwise get flagged

On the one hand, the main effect of closure/putting questions on hold is to prevent answers, as there will be something problematic about them. By answering a truly closeworthy question, you are ...

I'm British should I stop flagging?

There is a difference between Declined flags and Disputed flags. When a flag is disputed, nothing more happens, it just disappears into the void. You can never be banned for disputed flags. The more ...

Rudeness, sarcasms, insults, and being nice with new users

I'll be real clear here. I don't hold grudges, bias, or take sides. No matter who's saying what or flagging what or whatever you come into chat I say hello and treat you like anyone else. Likewise in ...

I'm British should I stop flagging?

Further to this, what happens if mods decide they don't like you because you've challenged them and their thinking? If you think a mod is doing that speak up so the other mods can take a look or you ...

Answering questions which otherwise get flagged

You should ideally let the person sort out their question, before answering. Knowing the answer is one thing but being able to, and being encouraged to formulate a good question is worthwhile. Giving ...

Rudeness, sarcasms, insults, and being nice with new users

Just to add. Many people push for clarity on a downvote however it would seem that a lot of people take it too personally. I think this falls under a catch 22 instance. Many people push for others ...

Flagged a question, now how to change the flag?

I don't think mods can change the flag anyway (correct me if I'm wrong @mods). If you find a duplicate after you've already flagged a close reason, the best option is to just leave a comment like: "...

Proper flag for copyright/watermark removal questions

There is no correct or official way to flag. We are not legal experts, and it's not always possible for us to judge whether what the poster is asking is illegal and/or immoral in his/her particular ...

Why was my spam flag declined on a job offer question?

In general Spam on Stack Exchange is defined and characterised by lacking disclosure or being either unsolicited/off-topic. The former point does not apply here. I would not consider the latter ...

Declined off-topic flag for migrated question

I apologized to Vincent within minutes of doing it when I realized he had declined your request. My exact words to him: It was a debate even in my head. But my conclusion was it was off-topic but I ...

Declined off-topic flag for migrated question

If you look at the review history, the question wasn't closed through review. So you flag was declined. The question was migrated by someone else just under an hour later, by which point your flag had ...

Flagged a question, now how to change the flag?

Good question, I suppose you can't 'change' your flag once it's submitted. In a case like this, I'd just hit the 'moderator intervention' reason and explain what's up. We can then fix things for you.

Recent spam messages with gibberish text

I don't believe it's necessary. Users get more spam flags every day and we have a good many users who actively flag, not to mention mods who don't have a limit. Besides, if a user continues to have ...

Declined flags?

I agree with the route Ryan has taken but I also want to say a few other things. We are not saying you should stop flagging. If an answer is not an answer or needs moderator attention then flag it ...

Declined flags?

Mods are supposed to do the least amount possible. I declined both of those flags because the users posting those answers think they're answers. The one today is really bad so I down-voted it and left ...
